Memorial Day

Graduation Announcement - HMDC Congrats

HMDC would like to Congratulate Aiesha on her achievement. Aiesha is Dental Assistant, Simone's daughter. Many of you may have met Aiesha at the office as she has helped at the front desk on occasion. 

She is graduating from High School on May 31st and will continue her studies at Georgia State University, majoring in Biology with a focus in Pediatrics. We remember when she was just a toddler and are so blessed to have watched her grow into the lovely young woman that she is today.

Sending Prayers to Oklahoma

HMDC Welcomes Baby Morgan

HMDC congratulates our retired founder, Dr. Steve Morgan and his wife, Caron on the arrival of their first grandchild. Their daughter, Kathryn, gave birth to a baby girl on May 9th and named her Morgan. Please join us in welcoming Morgan to the HMDC family. She is adorable!

As a parent, you never know what to expect. So make sure you are always prepared. Before you leave your child with a trusted caregiver make sure you have a reference list available to them.


Here is a list of items to provide:

• Children's full names, home address with cross streets (helpful in case they need to provide directions for emergency help) and phone number
• Parents and/or guardians contact information, 
• Pediatrician's name, address and phone number
• Dentist's name, address and phone number
• Drug and food allergies, medical conditions and current medications
• Health insurance information
• Emergency contacts in case parents or guardians can't be reached.

Dr. Uetsuki donates painting

We have many talented folks at HMDC. Not only is Dr. Uetsuki a great Dentist, he is also an artist. If you look closely the next time you are at HMDC you may notice some of his art work. He recently donated a painting to the new College of Dental Medicine at Georgia Regents University, formerly Medical College of GA. Tom Cruise - unique smile

Have you ever taken a really good look at Tom Cruise's smile?  He may be worth Millions, but he has what we call an Asymmetrical Smile due to a Midline discrepancy.  This is why you don't see many frontal shots of Tom Cruise.  No doubt he has learned to compensate over the years for his less than perfect smile.  In addition to being a brilliant actor, unbeknownst to Tom Cruise, he also debuts in many Dental education courses.

See if you can find all the flaws mentioned.

We can't say for sure but it appears he had a tooth removed and the remaining teeth were shifted into their current positioning.  He also has misalignment of the upper gum line as you notice some of his upper teeth sit higher than others, showing more or less gum.  He has overall upper gum unevenness with some areas of his smile showing more gum and less on other areas and an overly thin upper lip.

Tom Cruise may be self conscious of his smile but we would never know.  It certainly hasn't impacted his career negatively and he continues to grace the big screen.  Others of us may not be so lucky.

HMDC staff member participates in Swim Across America

HMDC's treatment coordinator, Izumi will be participating in Swim Across America this Sunday, May 5th to raise money for cancer treatment and research. This is her first 5K swim.
